Youth Genesis are running a new mental health drop-in for young people at the Younghayes Centre. The aim of this informal group is to provide a safe space for young people to come and talk to youth workers.
There will be different activities young people can take part in with while there, such as board games and crafts, and each week there will be an activity centring around mental health. These activities will be varied but will revolve around helping young people to identify what they’re feeling, ways in which to respond to those feelings and providing signposting to other services where needed.
Some of the areas the group is planning to focus on this term are stress, anxiety, healthy eating, and self-confidence.
The group is open 4pm-6pm on Fridays during term time. Anyone aged 11-18 (or up to 25 with additional needs) can attend the drop in. There’s no need to book. Just turn up!
