What is the Cranbrook Medical Practice Patient Participation Group (PPG)?
Its got a very long name so we tend to call it the PPG. The name does tell you exactly who we are and what we do though. The PPG is a group of people made up of patients of the Cranbrook Medical Practice who meet regularly with staff from the practice to discuss matters about the surgery.
We talk about such things as communication; e-consult; supporting those with mental health issues; health promotions etc and we have a reporting framework to give us an overview of what is happening at the Medical Practice. We look to support both the practice and the patients so that all of us in Cranbrook can stay as healthy as possible. We can’t take up issues about a particular person but can bring up common themes as they arise.
There is a wide range of people on the PPG, from those with an NHS background to those who know very little about how a practice works. This is great because it means everything has to be understandable! It is a good way of supporting the Medical Practice and finding out why things happen in particular ways. The PPG is an open and friendly group – which meets for about an hour every two months. We are keen to expand our numbers so if you are interested please contact us.
