The NHS Cervical Screening Programme is an important service that helps prevent cancer in women aged 24-64. Cervical screening (a smear test) is a health test that helps prevent cervical cancer. It checks for a virus called high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cell changes (abnormal cells).
If you have received a letter informing you that you are due to have your cervical screening please schedule an appointment with our Practice Nurse. We have regular availability for Cervical Screening appointments including weekends (subject to availability).
Alternatively, patients can also visit drop-in cervical screening clinics at Centre for Women’s Health (Eastern Services).
Booking an Appointment
To book or rearrange a Cervical Screening Test:
- Contact the practice by phone, online or visit us when we are open
- Respond to appointment invitations sent by the practice
