Normal Magic appointments are available weekly at the practice and can be booked without a referral and without a consultation with a GP or other clinician beforehand.
Supporting Children, Young People and Families
If you’re concerned about the mental health needs of your child or young person, or if you’d like to strengthen your family’s mentally healthy lifestyle, we’re here to explore whether Normal Magic can help.
Normal Magic supports children and young people aged 0–18 years, as well as their families, through:
- Personal wellbeing conversations
- Tailored, non-medical interventions
- Practical support focused on everyday challenges
This service aims to support early intervention, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
What Normal Magic Can Help With
Normal Magic appointments may help with:
- Emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Worries, stress, or low mood (non-urgent)
- Family, school, or routine-related challenges
- Sleep routines and healthy habits
- Building confidence and coping strategies
- Neurodivergence support, including:
- Understanding neurodivergent traits (such as autism or ADHD)
- Practical strategies for home or school
- Support with applications and forms (for example school support plans or related paperwork)
- Signposting to local services, groups, and community resources
This service is not a diagnostic or medical assessment but focuses on early support and practical guidance.
What to Expect
During a Normal Magic appointment, you can expect:
- A supportive, confidential, and child- or family-centred conversation
- Time to talk about what matters most to you or your child
- Tailored advice and practical next steps
- Support navigating non-clinical processes and applications
- Signposting to further services if appropriate
Important Information
Normal Magic appointments are not suitable for:
- Medical emergencies
- Urgent mental health crises
- Requests for medical diagnosis or medication
