Travel Health & Vaccinations

If you are planning to travel abroad, it is important to check whether you need any travel vaccinations or health advice before you go.
Our practice provides NHS travel vaccinations only, in line with current UK guidance.

Vaccinations We Offer

We offer NHS-funded travel vaccinations where clinically appropriate. These typically include:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid
  • Tetanus, diphtheria and polio boosters
  • Cholera (when indicated)

We do not provide private or non-NHS travel vaccinations.

When to Contact Us

You must contact the practice at least 8 weeks before your travel date.
This allows enough time for:

  • Assessment of your travel plans
  • Review by the nursing team
  • Safe scheduling of any required vaccinations

Requests made less than 8 weeks before travel may not be able to be accommodated.

Travel Health Questionnaire

Once you contact us, you will be sent an initial travel health questionnaire. This must be completed for each individual traveller accurately and returned as soon as possible.
The questionnaire will be reviewed by our nursing team, who will:

  • Assess your destination, itinerary, and health history
  • Decide whether you are eligible for NHS travel vaccinations
  • Determine what vaccinations or advice may be required

Booking a Vaccination Appointment

If you are eligible for vaccination, you will be invited to book an appointment.
Please note:

  • Vaccinations must be given at least 2 weeks before travel
  • Some vaccinations may require more than one dose
  • Appointments are limited and subject to availability

Important Information

  • We only offer NHS-approved travel vaccinations
  • We do not provide malaria tablets or private travel clinics
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the entry requirements of the country you are visiting

For destinations or vaccinations not covered by the NHS, you may need to contact a private travel clinic.

How to Get Started

To begin the process:

  • Contact the practice by phone, online or visit us when we are open at least 8 weeks before travel
  • Complete and return the travel health questionnaire promptly
